Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas has established an African-African History Museum. The new museum, located in the Olin Learning and Resource Center on campus features the Rodney Lamar Atkins Collection. "Life in American: 1900-1979" includes more than 200 pieces, including items from Negro League baseball, figurines, rare photos, farming equipment, and kitchen utensils relating to African American life in the early twentieth century.
Atkins is the Director of the Olin Library and has been collecting memorabilia for 30 years. Tours of the museum are available to schools, church group and social organizations.
